THE VINEYARD
From Walnuts to Wine.
Before the vines, the land was a walnut farm. A few of those original trees remain on the property,
offering a quiet nod to the vineyard’s past.
Once the land was cleared and prepared, the first vines were planted in 2007.

15 acres of dry-farmed, head-pruned vines of zinfandel, petite sirah & cabernet planted
First small harvest, a mere 5 years after we started... did I mention that vineyards require patience?
Planted 6 additional acres, adding tempranillo and grenache to the mix
We started our first small label... TreSon to bring our wonderful product into Michigan!
We began to adjust the mix by grafting over some of the original zinfandel vines to cabernet,

Making 4hearts Wine Special
Begins with the planting and utilizing the "dry farming" technique.
As Steve, our original vineyard manager, likes to say,
starting 4hearts was the creation of “a new day in the old way.”
Simply put, dry farming a vineyard is old school...
Farming without irrigation and you are at the mercy of Mother Nature.

Vineyard Map & Grapes
Zinfandel
Our head-pruned Zinfandel thrives in the dry Paso Robles soil. It produces bold reds with characteristic hints of black pepper and dark berry.
Grenache
This variety adds bright red fruit notes and a soft, supple texture to our blends. It is a cornerstone of our Rhone-inspired vineyard blocks.
Tempranillo
Bringing Spanish tradition to Paso Robles, our Tempranillo offers savory complexity and structure. It develops beautifully in our dry-farmed environment.
Cabernet Sauvignon
The king of grapes provides deep color and firm tannins. Our select blocks are grafted to ensure the highest quality expression of the terroir.
Petite Sirah
Known for its intense color and full body, Petite Sirah adds power and longevity. It is a vital component in our SiSterS dry farm blend.
